2017 Books Challenge Part 4

Wendy the Super Librarian has saved us all and put together a much needed challenge. It’s based on books you already own but haven’t gotten around to reading. All readers have these and they have a nasty habit of growing faster than we can read. Well, actually it’s a yummy habit.

Something DifferentSisters in Arms by Helena Schraeder. I recently had the privilege of working with this wonderful author and person. She gave me a signed copy as a departing gift and I can’t wait to read it.

Favorite TropeA Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman

Series Catch-UpEarly Warning by Jane Smiley

Kicking It Old SchoolA Place of Greater Safety by Hillary Mantel. I can’t visit a city without going to at least one of its book stores. This was purchased from Blackwell’s in that Literary City of Edinburgh a few years ago.

HistoricalBalkan Ghosts: A Journey Through History by Robert D. Kaplan. I bought this book before moving to Bulgaria and still haven’t gotten around to reading it.

Paranormal or Romantic SuspenseFrankenstein by Mary Shelley. Can’t believe I haven’t read this yet!

Recommended ReadSea of Poppies by Amitav Ghosh

Holiday ThemesA Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. Seen many versions of the movie, but have yet to read the book despite my love of Dickens.
